The World of Aleister Douglass
The Iron Chapel is a modern rock opera inspired by the theatrical world-building and conceptual ambition of David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, reimagined through a darker contemporary lens. The album follows Aleister Douglass through a world of machinery, ritual, decay, transformation, and return. Heavy guitars, baritone vocals, organ, harpsichord, strings, and industrial textures create a single connected musical narrative with a gothic, cinematic edge.
The World
Like a classic rock opera, The Iron Chapel unfolds as a self-contained world built around a central figure. Aleister Douglass is dandy, machine-age occultist, survivor, revenant, and unreliable guide through a landscape where iron, ritual, memory, scars, paradise, and death all occupy the same territory. Each track advances another part of that world while remaining a complete song in its own right.
